Zermatt is a car-free alpine village at the base of the Matterhorn, home to Matterhorn Ski Paradise — the highest-altitude ski resort in Europe with skiing on both the Swiss and Italian sides. Access is via train from Geneva or Zurich (no car needed).

Book flights departing the US on April 4, arriving in Switzerland (Geneva or Zurich) the morning of April 5 — aim to land around noon local time. Hotel check-in starts at 3pm, which lines up well with the ~3.5 hr train to Zermatt.

Zermatt is one of the culinary capitals of the Alps: 100+ restaurants spread across the village and up on the mountain, including 4 Michelin-starred restaurants (After Seven, Capri, Alpine Gourmet Prato Borni, and Brasserie Uno) plus 21+ Gault‑Millau rated spots.

We're penciling in one night for a Michelin-star tasting menu dinner as part of the trip — details/reservations TBD once headcount is confirmed.

We're all staying together at Penthouse Zeus, a 140m² luxury penthouse on the 4th floor of Hotel Hemizeus & Iremia Spa — Untere Tuftra 11, 3920 Zermatt, in the quiet Winkelmatten district.

Sleeps up to 9: 4 double/twin bedrooms plus 1 single room. Two en-suite bathrooms plus a separate bathroom with shower/WC. Spacious open-plan living and dining area with a large balcony and breathtaking Matterhorn views. Fully equipped open kitchen with dishwasher, Nespresso machine, and a welcome bottle of prosecco waiting on arrival. Cable TV, in-room safes, and WiFi throughout.

~7 min walk to the Matterhorn Express lift (direct access to Matterhorn Glacier Paradise); free electric shuttle bus stop right outside, running roughly 7:30am–7:40pm to/from the village center.
